I found this book to be boring and hard to get into...until Betsy and Laura started traveling through time. Once that happened, I couldn't put the book down.
I found it really interesting that Betsy was the reason she had the life she did. I liked that she set in motion Tina and Eric coming into her life. That puts a new spin on the previous books. I also liked that she went back and made things right with Nick. I'm not his biggest fan, but I felt bad for what he went through because of Betsy and Sinclair.
The one part I wasn't crazy about came with their trip into the future. One thing I've always liked about Betsy is that she is good at heart and she cares about her friends and family. The future Betsy was just horrible.
It was interesting (and horrifying) to see where the Book of the Dead came from. It will be interesting to see how that plays into the the next few books. I really hated knowing that future Betsy wrote the book and that it was made out of Sinclair's skin. That makes me hate Betsy and I really don't want to hate Betsy. I really hope that in the next few books present day Betsy finds some way to change the future so that she doesn't become future Betsy.
Overall, the book was decent enough to keep me reading the next few books of the series.
